IRZ CONSULTING is a recognized leader in irrigation water conservation technologies. IRZ has conducted over 2000 irrigation audits throughout the United States with documented water and energy savings of 10% to 50%. We have developed many Conservation Plans for clients including Irrigation Districts, private landowners, State, and Federal Agencies. Conservation Plan is customized for each client and may include one or more of the following components:

  • Development of Conservation Plan, which includes:
    - Canal seepage loss analysis
    - Canal, lateral, and steel mainline rehabilitation
    - On-farm conservation potential
    - District-wide conservation potential
    - Development of Best Management Practices (BMP)
    - Engineering plan for conversion from flood to sprinkler systems
    - Develop plans for flow measurement devices
    - Software for water management
    - Identify remote monitoring and control requirements (SCADA)
    - Use of GPS/GIS/CAD to locate and map of irrigation turnouts and facilities
    - Identify incentives and programs that encourage water conservation
    - Quantify water conservation amount and time-line to achieve them
    - Develop detail cost of each conservation projects

  • Watershed Planning - Develop watershed enhancement program and integrate water conservation plans to improve the watershed health.

  • Irrigation system audit - Entire irrigation system will be evaluated, including flow test, pump testing, system pressure measurements, mainline and water delivery evaluation. A report is prepared for each client with recommendations and documented water and energy savings. Based on our experience water and energy savings ranging from 20% to 50% can be expected.

  • Flow testing - we use the state of the art ultrasonic flow meter to accurately test flows in pipelines from 2 to 200 inches.

  • Pump and motor efficiency test - we use electronic instrumentation to measure electrical volt, amps, power factor, kilowatt and horsepower input. This test can be done on centrifugal, or vertical turbine pump. Efficiency of system is determined and compared to our standard. A recommendation report detailing on ways to improve efficiency is provided to each client.
